E.V. "Andy" Andrews

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at Mart Cemetery.

A visitation with the family will be 5 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.

Andy was born December 5, 1915 in Hillsboro, Texas to John and Naomi (Burnson) Andrews. On December 25, 1940, he married the love of his life Mildred Rutherford. He served in the Army during WWII as a decorated soldier, traveling through Africa, Europe, Italy and France. Andy worked as an Executive for the Veterans Administration and the Small Business Administration. After retiring, he became an accomplished artist of landscapes and portraits.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 69 years, Mildred Andrews.

Those left to cherish his memory are Brother-in-law, Donald Rutherford of Kansas; Nephews, Bill Rutherford and wife Beth of Tennessee, Steve Rutherford and wife Mai of Hawaii, Walter Stewart and wife Linda of California, Steve Stewart of California, John Acker and wife Elsa of Texas, Steve Dossett and wife Lisa of Texas; Nieces, Jeanette Hobbs and husband Wesley of Texas and Beverly Richardson and husband Michael of New Mexico; and adopted daughter, Linda Tackett and husband H.D. of Texas.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Jennifer Ferguson, Heather Havard, and the staff of Meadowlands Terrace, Odyssey Hospice and Right at Home. “You were all a blessing to Andy and his family and gave him the respect, dignity, and love he deserved.”
