WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for James R. Sturkie, 74, of West Columbia will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with entombment in Southland Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. Pastor Scarborough will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Sturkie was born August 14, 1942 in Aiken County, SC and passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was a son of the late Wesley V. Sturkie and Beulah Rankin Sturkie. He was an assembly worker for AT&T Nassau.
He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Jenkins (Don), Gina Dixon (Duane); grandchildren, Ashley Lewis (Damon), Todd Parker, Cody and Clint Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Chase, Carson, Camden, Cooper Lewis; sisters, Mary Johnson, Linda Sentefeit; aunts, Sally Mae Wise, Paulene Woodward; nieces, Angela Holley, Crystal Johnson, Tasha Whitmire; special cousin, Arlene Gardner; special family friend, Victor Van Valt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Sturkie.
