She is survived by her husband, Wayne Amerson; children, Barry Chavis (Diana), Rev. Donald Chavis, Kim Gartman, Bonnie Owens, Mary Shirey and Brandy Henley along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Billy Ray Chavis; two daughters, Melinda Gail Chavis and Sherrie Hart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at City of Hope Worship Center with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.
