I am a county employee and would see Vern occasionally at meetings with county administration. Although Vern and I had not spoken too many words with each other I grew to have such great respect for Vern. His fairness, geniuine  concern for others, and willing to extend a handshake with all sincerity.  Vern never came across as phony or pretentious and although I barely knew him I spoke about him to co-workers and had such high regard for him. God bless him and may the Lord be with him always. God's grace and peace to Vern's family and  close friends.  They must have so many warm memories of Vern.

I worked with Vern many years ago at TKEC and then later at the County, although in different areas. He was such a great guy.  Generous with his friendship, with a great sense of humor.  Take comfort in your memories

Vernie was a good friend when he and I worked at the Town Center Gas and Wash back in 66' - 67'. My wife and I would see him at Foster's in the evenings and we always enjoyed his company. We have lost a wonderful person. Rest in Peace Vernie, and our prayers and condolences for you family and friends.

I remember Mr. Ribeiro from First Baptist and Conyer Elementary where I attended school with Ashley. He was so kind, and would happily chat with us kids as we walked from First Baptist to Conyer in the mornings. He was just very warm and friendly, and he didn't seem to mind that I addressed him by his first name - ha. My sympathies to Ashley and the rest of the family.

My sympathies and prayers go out to Vern's family and friends.  He was always nice and helpful to me.  I can still remember the twinkle in his eye when he told you something that wasn't quite true.  The world is a sadder place without Vern in it

I met Vernon 1st day of school, 7th Grade Divisadero School and he came at me with a smile and a handshake at first homeroom break. I got to know Vern only because he was a regular customer at Wal-Mart on Noble. He always had a smile and always teased me only because he retired and I still had to work. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Vernon's death. Went to school with him at Veva Blunt. Then he went to Divisadero and MW. I went Green  Acres and Redwood. We were neighbors which in our time meant within 3 miles or o. I talked with him in passing. Vernon you will be   mlssed. Mike Mackey

It is likely that Vern's friends and family will remember him in many different ways.  I am certain, however, that they will also remember him the way I do - always a gentleman, always ready with a smile, always professional, and always that great sense of humor.  It was a privilege to call him a friend and there are so many who can do so. He will be missed.

Vern's death is truly a great loss.  We met at Cal Poly and had numerous classes together.  I always appreciated his wit and humor. He was a great source of knowledge and wisdom to me over the years when I'd call him for advice on how best to handle a particular personnel issue. Vern will definitely be missed. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I'll never forget the kindness that Vern showed me.  He was the best and will be missed.  Whenever I had a problem and went to him he always did whatever he could...many times going out of his way to make sure it was taken care of.  He made an impression in my life. I was so very sorry to hear of Vernons' passing. We have all suffered a terrible loss. He was such a wonderful and caring person and I was very proud to call him my friend.

Our faith is certainly tested at times like this. I know it is difficult to understand a loss like this, but we need to be mindful of the true blessing that he was to us. That should give us the strength to continue on in faith knowing that he would want us to honor his memory in this way.
