Jack Gerrit Tuls

Jack Gerrit Tuls was born on December 7th, 1942 in Alphen an den Rijn, Netherlands. He was the oldest child of Jake and Betsy Tuls. Jack has one sister, Donna (Ted) Greidanus and one brother, Sid (Judy) Tuls. The family immigrated to America in 1951, settling in Artesia, CA. After attending Bellflower Christian School he began his career in the dairy business by milking cows. Jack later married his grade school sweetheart, Tillie DeGroot on March 2rd , 1962. They started their life together in La Palma, CA and moved to their first dairy in Chino, CA in 1968. In 1979 they built a dairy in San Jacinto, CA and lived there for 22 years. Later they moved to Idaho, where they built a dairy and horse ranch. Jack and Tillie loved working together with their Friesians and through this hobby they met people from all over the world as they traveled to horse shows and bus rallies in their motorhome. Jack and Tillie were married for 49 years. Jack also had a love for deep sea fishing and in his later years he enjoyed playing pool at “Jack’s Pool Hall” (which replaced a dining room at his home in Sierra Village). Jack enjoyed spending quality time with his 4 children, 16 grand children and 9 great grandchildren.

Throughout Jack’s life, he was generous giver. He quietly gave to Billy Graham Ministries, Samaritan’s Purse and was always helping those in need. Jack lived out his final years at Sierra Village in Visalia, CA and attended Trinity United Reformed Church. Jack went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his son, Mark Daniel Tuls, his wife Tillie Tuls and his granddaughter, Lindsay Van Dyke. He is survived by his four children, Jack Tuls, Pete Tuls, Kelley Van De Stouwe , Todd Tuls, his 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sister, Donna and Ted Greidanus, and his brother, Sid and Judy Tuls.

Viewing will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia, CA at 5-7pm on Thursday March 23 with the graveside service at 10:30 am, Visalia Cemetery March 24

Funeral Service will be held at Trinity United Reformed Church in Visalia, CA March 24 at 11:30 am with a light lunch to follow Funeral Service live stream link, Trinity URC - Visalia, CA on Livestream
