Colin Jon Green, 59 born on December 3, 1963 in Canoga Park, CA to Donald and Patricia Green (both passed) departed this life on February 18, 2023 in Visalia, CA. He was a residence of Lindsay, CA. moved to Ivanhoe, CA. in 1993 lived there for 26 years with his wife Mary E. Green.
Colin was a Boy Scout in his youth and attended Washington Elementary School, Steve Garvey Jr. High, and graduated from Lindsay High school in 1982. He was on the varsity football team belonged to the Kiwanis Club, joined Young Men’s Christian Association in El Camino Real YMCA and attended College of the Sequoias earning his (AA) Associates Degree on December 20, 1989.
Colin joined the Army from 1986-1989 as a Medical Specialist, went to basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; then went to Advanced Individual Training of Heath Science at Fort Sam in Houston, TX. In 1987, he got his Army diploma for successfully completing the training, then earn his Certificate of US Army Medical Department Regiment Affiliation on April 24, 1987. Where he was member of the AMEDD Regiment, then received his certificate for Army Achievement Medal on May 2nd 1988 in Washington, DC. Colin Flew from Oakland, CA International airport to Fairbanks Alaska, Kyoto Japan, and Seoul, Korea. He was stationed with The 560th Medical Company at Camp Humphrey outside of Seoul Korea.
Colin received his C.N.A. certificate, then worked for Kaweah Manor Convalescent Home in Visalia, CA where he met his wife Mary E. Green. They dated for five years and married in Woodlake, CA. on November 17, 1993. They moved to Ivanhoe, CA where they lived for 26 years. He was a custodian for the Tulare County for 17 years and had to stop working due to his health.
Colin loved building model Racecars, his favorite ones were military models. He loved watching sports on TV and was a 49er fan & his favorite movie was Black Hawk Down. He loved working in the yard, going to the park, and to military events. Colin loved eating Mexican food, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to 80’s music on the radio. He loved going to visit his mother in-law, Maria T. Martinez at her home for coffee. Colin loved his in-laws very much. He always joked around and made people laugh even though he didn’t know them. Never hesitated to help anyone. He made friends wherever he went and was a loving and caring person.
Colin belonged to Sierra Post 785, American Legion Post 18 in Visalia, CA always looked forward to going on Wednesdays to see his friends there.
Mary Green would like to thank the VA Veteran’s Hospital in Fresno, CA for doing everything for her husband’s medical needs and the Tulare VA Clinic.
Colin is survived by his brothers, Brian Green (Marilyn), Kirk Green (Beth), Dan Green (Carol); his sister; Laura Erikson (Steve) as well as his nieces, nephews, and in laws.
