William, known as Bill to everyone, was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Jeanne Frances Peterson; his parents, John and Ida Peterson; brothers, John, George and Starr; and many loved family members.
He is survived by his amazing children Edward (Sandy), Karin, Robert, and Melissa (Jeff); ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bill was an humble and kind man and loved his family with everything he had. He was a devoted husband, fantastic father, amazing grandfather to all his grands and great grandchildren. He was a loyal brother, friend, and military seaman.
Many people don’t know, but he spent 10 years serving his country in the US Navy, separated for months at a time from his young family. He achieved several Decorations while serving. Good Conduct Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba) and a Second Good Conduct Award. After his 10 years, he decided to continue his service by joining the Naval Reserve, adding an additional 15 years of faithful service, always at the ready to sacrifice. He had a long career with Sears Service Center, ready to repair appliances in some not so nice situations, hot attics, cold garages, and wet basements. All for the financial support of his young family. He retired after 36 years.
