William "Bill" Ray Burch

William “Bill” Ray Burch, 64, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Virginia Beach. Bill was born in Pontiac, Michigan and then adopted by the late Francis and Elsie Burch. Bill served in the US Navy for eight years and later worked as a commercial HVAC Technician with Controlled Conditions Corporation for many years. He loved the great outdoors and he hiked the Appalachian Trail. He is cherished in memory by his wife, Rosemary Jane Ashenfelter; children, Mathew Burch, Christopher Burch and Lindsey “Burch” Piltawer; stepchildren, Jeremy and Jonathan Typpi; a brother, Kenneth Burch, 2 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 3 step grandchildren and his dog, Katie. A visitation will be from 6-8pm, Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home Kempsville in Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Monday, December 30, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. After the service concludes, there will be a reception to follow.
