Steven Karl Johnson

Steven K. Johnson, 53, passed away peacefully June 13, 2011.

“Steve” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born July 15, 1957 to the late Karl and Emilie Johnson in Lansing, MI. Mr. Johnson served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy for 25 years retiring with the rank of Senior Chief. He has worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for the past seven years. Steve loved collecting trains and spending with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 28 years, Maria Johnson; two daughters: Stephanie Johnson and fiancé Andrew Richardson, and Robyn Johnson; a brother Michael Johnson; and two beloved best friends, “Toby” and “Napoleon”.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm, Friday, June 17, 2011 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sentara Heart Hospital, where he received the best care available. Mr. Johnson gave others a chance in life through organ donation.
