Queen “Lady” Ann Toney of Chesapeake, VA was a lover and a fighter. During her last days on Earth, she fought to stay with her family for eleven years or more. Although she was sick, she stayed longer than expected. As she lived, she expressed her love for her family. Queen, daughter of Liza Gatlin and Luther Price was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on September 1st, 1938. She graduated from Princess Ann County Training School. She was a hardworking custodian for at least five years.
Also, she was a loving wife. She made sure the house was always clean. She admired shopping, enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and watching Lifetime. She kept her family in lined. She cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She wanted all children to make good grades and aim to be successful. She always wanted the best for her family. She will be truly missed.
Queen is predeceased by her mother Liza Gatlin, father Luther Price, sister Liz Bernard, sister Nelie Price, sister Nancy Hawkins, brother Nolen Price, brother Cesa Price, brother Robert Price and brother Livingston Price, lovely husband Sanford Toney of fifty-six years, and son Barry Toney.
Loved ones for whom will forever cherish her memory are her lovely and devoted sons: Sanford James Toney Jr. (Jacquitta) and Shawn Mark Toney (Sharon), four grandchildren: Marta Toney Jackson (Deville), Shawnette Anita Toney, Tamera Denise Toney, Shawn Mark Toney Jr., three great-grandchildren: Sa Niyah, Deville and Amiyah, and a host of family and friends.
