Virginia Beach - Mary Patricia Ann (Ainslie) Pope “Pat”, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 9, 2013. Pat was born Feb 8, 1937 in Seattle, WA to the late Edward and Eulalia Ainslie. She was a Pan Am Stewardess for 5 years and enjoyed a career as a RN at Virginia Beach General Hospital for 18 years. Pat was a fabulous Navy wife. Pat was an active parishioner at Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, assisting as Eucharistic Minister, with special dinners, homeless ministry, bingo, bazaar activities, or serving wherever she was needed. Being an avid golfer, Pat was comfortable with competition from both men and women. She was not too comfortable, but respectful, of her husband’s suggested swing changes. However, she consistently outdrove and collected wagers from her husband. Pat and her husband loved traveling and were veterans of 21 cruises. She was always shopping for a bargain and enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA.
