Her gentle, kind and compassionate manner made her career as a RN a perfect choice. She spent many years working in the labor and delivery ward in Richmond, VA. Later in her career she worked in the pediatric unit for VBGH.
She was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church for many years and loved spending time with the wonderful ladies of the Dorcas Sunday School class.
Her spare time was spent enjoying her loving family and quilting.
She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Budd, her parents Calvin and Elsie, and five siblings, Mitchell, Cleo, Mertie, Odell and Lenzie.
She is survived by her daughter Terri and her husband Jim, and grandchildren Melissa and Brandon who she adored and loved with all her heart.
The family will receive visitors at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A private graveside funeral will follow on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice in her memory at
