Joseph was born in Yuma, AZ on October 17, 1998. He resided in multiple states during his life, including Beaufort, South Carolina, San Diego, California, Emerald Isle, North Carolina, and Norfolk and Virginia Beach. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk and a graduate of Norview High School Class of 2019.
Joseph fought a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In spite of his physical limitations, he was a determined young man. He was the kindest, most courageous person you could ever meet. He was a bit shy and introverted, but once he got to know you, he would talk your ears off. He had a quick wit that made people laugh which always made him smile.
Joseph loved playing video games and listening to christian and country music. He enjoyed drawing, coloring and playing with Lego's. His favorite food was Mexican and a good home cooked meal.
Survivors include his mother Angela Sue Reep and husband Matthew Reep; his father John David Howe and wife Amy Howe; grandmother Rebecca Schreckengast and husband Jerry; grandfather Roger Gilmore and wife Catherine; six sisters Ashley Howe, Jessica Howe, Abigail Nettles (James Parker) Sarah Hermosillo (Jesus), Hannah Young,and Lydia Howe; one brother Joshua Howe and Micah Reep; and seven nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Road Norfolk, VA. Dr. Eric Thomas, Senior Pastor, will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Graveside services will also be held at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC, Friday, February 10, at 1:00 p.m.
