Virginia Beach- John K. Bristow passed away on March 8, 2011 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Johnny fought a brave battle against Mesothelioma-cancer caused by asbestos exposure. He was born on June 27, 1942 to Iva Lee and Bertie Bristow in Knoxville, TN.
He is predeceased by his first wife of 40 years, Carol S. Bristow.
John was a Design Engineer and retired from Newport News Shipbuilding Company after 37 years of service.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 8 years, Anne M. Bristow of Virginia Beach, VA; sons, Kenny Bristow and wife Laura of Yorktown, VA; Ricky Bristow of Hampton, VA; and step-son, Scott Pridgen of Charlotte, NC; one step-daughter, Christie Faircloth and husband Jack of Charlotte, NC; half-brother Gary Bristow and wife Hope of Kernersville, NC; ten grandchildren, Kristie Bristow, Kenny Bristow, Audrey Warren, Casey Bristow, Joshua Paul Bristow, Caleb Bristow, and their mother Darlene Bristow; Morgan Faircloth, Maggie Faircloth, Andrew Faircloth, and Autumn Pridgen.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 12:30pm at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Road
