Joanne Davis Curtis Hoff, born on November 19, 1956, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was the beloved daughter of Richard Alfred Davis, Jr. and Evelyn Anna Witzemann Davis.
Joanne was a woman of remarkable dedication and intellect, having earned two Master's degrees. Her professional life was marked by her dual careers as an X-ray technician and a school counselor, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and expertise.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Hoff, and her cherished children: Justin Curtis, Michelle Curtis Adcock and her husband Zachary, Brian Curtis and his wife Juliet. Joanne was a proud grandmother to Davis Adcock and Coleman Adcock, who brought immense joy to her life.
In addition to her immediate family, Joanne is survived by her brothers, Richard Davis III and Robert Davis, who shared in her life's journey. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Erik Hoff, Kelly Hoff Taylor and her husband Zachary, and Stefan Hoff and his wife Kelly, all of whom she embraced as her own along with Timothy Geary and his wife Meghan and their children Karsyn Geary and Hartlyn Geary.
Joanne's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family, education, and service to others. Her legacy will be carried on by those who knew and loved her, and her memory will be cherished by all whose lives she touched.
A private family service will be held to honor Joanne's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a charity of choice, reflecting Joanne's lifelong dedication to helping others.
