Esther Gertrude Michaels

Born July 25, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter of the late Mary Brant Beilstein Monty and John Frederick Beilstein, and step daughter of the late John Monty. Sister to John, George, Charles, Robert, Ida Bertha & Dorothy Mae Beilstein (deceased).

Esther is predeceased by Step son, Carl Dennis Michaels; Son, David Michaels; Ex-husband Carl Michaels, Sr., and Grandson, David Michaels.

Left to cherish her memory are her Children, Carl Michaels, Jr. of McKeesport, PA, Mark Michaels of McKeesport, PA, Daughter in law, Peggy Kelly (David) of Liberty Boro, PA, Tim Michaels (Melanie) of Portsmouth, VA, Starr Griffin (Jamie) of Virginia Beach, VA and Darlene Ulokovic of McKeesport, PA; Grandchildren, Nikki Tarr of Lawrenceville, GA, Brandon Michaels of Washington, PA, Brittney Michaels of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Rudisill of Portsmouth, VA and Kyle Michaels of Portsmouth, VA; and Great-grandchildren, Arielle Long of Virginia Beach, VA, Ronin Iocco of Lawrenceville, GA and Blaze Love of Virginia Beach, VA.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Esther worked as a Switchboard Operator for Bell Telephone in Pittsburgh, PA, a CCD Teacher, Librarian and Lunch Mother at St. Mary’s Catholic School, a Sales Associate at Kmart in Duquesne, PA and was a Deli Manager for many years at Scozio’s Shop-n-Save in Versailles Boro, PA.

She loved Jesus and prayed faithfully. She loved her coffee, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Animal Planet, Dr. Pol and especially playing Bingo with all of her friends she loved dearly at the Commons at Princess Anne, but she loved her family most of all. She loved animals, especially her Smokey and Tigger who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and her grandfurballs, Kona, Sammy James, Tigger, Trouble, Lacee, Sweet Pea, Kei Kei Momma and Punkin.

Esther was a Member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, VA & St. Mary's, Czestochowa, McKeesport, PA.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 on February 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude, Virginia Beach SPCA or the Feral Alliance Network (FAN).
