Edwin Medina, Sr.

Edwin Medina, 92, was born in Puerto Rico. He passed away on Thursday, December 26,2024. Mr. Medina was preceded in death by his parents Heraclio and Dalila Torres Medina, and his eldest son Edwin Medina, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Maria De Jesus, his daughter Maria Dillahunt, his sons Ricardo, William, and David, his Stepdaughter Carolina Sanchez-Costa, and his adopted children, Jose Cardenas and Griselle Guadeloupe Figueroa. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Daphne, Paul, Delisaned, Taina, Edwin, Joshua, and Alida, his great grandchildren; Jose, Ismeal, Lily, Edwin, Eniyah, Erin, Aryanna, and Chase and his great great grandchildren; Michael, Kya, and Cassy.

Mr. Medina was an employee of the New York City Housing Authority for 32 years, from which he retired. He was a member of the Virginia Beach Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, which he proudly attended right up to loss of the use of his legs. Even then he still attended the 2023 Memorial Service.

Mr. Medina truly enjoyed living, laughing, and loving with his family. He will be missed by everyone that had the privilege of crossing his path.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4th, at 2pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
