Christina Ann Smith

Funeral services and burial will be held at 12:30pm Saturday, 10 September 2016 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Memorial Park for Christina Ann (Lewis) Smith, 45 of Kempsville, Virginia Beach, Virginia who passed away suddenly without warning (SAH) at her home, on Labor Day, Monday, 5 September 2016.

Christina was a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and a graduate of Indian River High School (Class of 1988).

In 1991, she married Michael Smith and they moved to Natchez, Mississippi as part of Michael’s first assignment in the U.S. Coast Guard. Seventeen months later they returned to Chesapeake where their first son, Zachary was born. Four years later, they relocated to Virginia Beach where sons Kobie and Carter were born. In 2007, they moved to Everett, Washington where son Aiden was born. They returned to Virginia Beach in 2011 where they have resided in the Fairfield area since.

She was a great wife and best friend, a superb mother whose love, advice, and examples will continue to guide her ‘boys’ as they become men, and a fantastic teacher who influenced and put a smile on so many young faces.

Christina is survived by her husband of 25 years, Michael Lee Smith; sons, Zachary Lee Smith (22), Kobie Lee Smith (16), Carter Lee Smith (14) and Aiden Lee Smith (7); parents, Daniel Allen Lewis and Martha Ann (Finley) Lewis of Chesapeake; grandmother Martha Elizabeth (Malpass) Finley Wilkins of Chesapeake; sister Denise Elizabeth (Lewis) Smith of South Carolina; nephew Brandon Smith of Chesapeake; mother & father in-law, Margaretta (Cole) Smith Rainey and Travis Rainey of Virginia Beach; grandmother in-law, Alma Imogene (Hazelwood) Cole of Virginia Beach, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

The Smith family will receive friends from 11am until 12:30pm, Saturday, 10 September 2016.
