Nécrologie de Betty Jean Nolin
Betty J. Nolin, our beloved mother, passed away on December 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving children. Mom was the strongest woman we ever knew, enduring the unspeakable sadness of losing two children & more recently her life mate, our dad. She was the absolute foundation of our home and she will be dearly missed. Mom was born on February 1, 1932 and was raised in Norfolk and was a graduate of Maury High School. She retired from Empire Machinery. Mom’s passions were cross-stitching, bowling and watching pretty much any televised sports. She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Dorothy Doughty; sister Jane Robinson; husband of 60 years, Fred Nolin. Her son Leslie Landon and daughter Patty Cox. Mom is survived by daughter Alice Tucker and husband Tommy; son Mike Nolin; daughters Suzie Hogan and husband Rob, and Robin Nolin; son in law Carroll Cox; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mom's greatest joy was the love her children had for one another. We will spend time together now, retelling the stories of our childhood and cherishing our life as a family. Mom will love it. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home. Face coverings are preferred. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 10:00 am at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we are requesting donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
