Malcolm Eugene Gerrish Sr.

Malcolm proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam Conflict. After the Navy, he drove trucks for a number of years and then went to work as a prison guard for the Texas Department of Corrections for over 10 years. He then went to work as a car salesman at Vinton Auto Sales, a job he held for 5 years.

Mr. Gerrish is survived by his sister, Susan Peddy of Vinton; children, Malcolm Eugene Gerrish Jr. and Jasmine Gerrish, both of Detroit, Michigan; the mother of his children, Amalia Gerrish of Detroit, Michigan; along with two nephews, Herschel Hoffpauir and Bobby Joe Nichols.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Nancy Creel.

A Celebration of Malcolm's life will be held at a later date.
