She was a native of Starks, and a graduate of Starks High School, and had been a lifelong resident of the Vinton area. Charlotte absolutely loved animals and children. You would often find her taking care of stray dogs and cats (and kids) that she would come across. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and pets as well. Charlotte was a devout Christian.
Survivors include her son, Douglas Cormier and wife, Mary of Tomball, Texas and beloved granddaughter Allyson (Ally) Cormier, residing in Tyler, Texas, as well as Charlotte’s dear friend and companion, Richard Huval of Vinton. Charlotte is also survived by sisters Melba LeDoux of Groves, Texas, Becky Braneff and Becky’s husband Larry of Starks LA, and Jennifer (Ginger) Terrell and Ginger’s husband Marvin of Eatonton GA ; She is preceded in death by her parents, John Adam and Alberta Berry, eldest sister Lee McClelland, Lee’s husband Ray, as well as brother in law Joseph (Buddy) LeDoux.
Charlotte was not the youngest sister, but she was the baby of the family. After her mother passed away, she made it her mission to cook rice & gravy every day for her father. Charlotte loved to play board games, cards and had an uncanny ability to add numbers without the use of pencil and paper. Charlotte was one of the first set of locals hired by the Louisiana Gaming Commission to work the gates at Delta Downs. Charlotte retired from a job she loved for many years, working with handicapped children in the Calcasieu Parish Schools.
