Annie was a lifelong resident of Vinton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Annie was a past member of the Twelfth Night Revelers, was a past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 208. She was a school bus driver for 17 years, retiring from Calcasieu Parish School Board. Annie enjoyed crocheting, camping, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Virginia Breaux (Jerry) of Vinton, Brenda Hamilton of Kingwood, TX, Sheila Breaux of El Reno, OK, Donna Malone (Kevin) of Edgerly; her sister, Audrey Smart of Liberty, TX; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husbands, Cleveland LeMaire and Harold Lewis; her companion, Buddy Gunter; and her sister, Hilda Plummer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Holly Hill, White Hall, and High Hope Care Centers for the loving and compassionate care they showed to Ms. Annie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos Garcia officiating. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 from 4-8 PM with a Rosary service at 6 PM in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation resumes on Thursday, March 18th from 8 until time time to leave for Mass. Interment will follow in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
