William Joseph Stern

William Joseph Stern, age 88, passed away November 16, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana. Born December 21, 1929 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he was one of 9 children of William and Margaret Stern. In 1949 he married Arvilla Morgan and together they had 7 children. He married Delores Amoroso in 1985 and had 3 stepchildren. He loved his life as a long haul trucker and never tired of telling his many stories of the road. When not working he loved camping and fishing with his family and cross country road trips to visit family back east. In retirement he enjoyed even more fishing, traveling the country with Delores in their motor home to visit family and attending bluegrass festivals. He loved his donut shop family where he spent countless hours solving the world's problems with friends. He also loved his church family, especially the ladies who spoiled him every birthday.

He is survived by 10 children and stepchildren William Stern of Coquille OR, Ronald Stern (Liz) of Altus OK, Donald Stern of Woodland WA, Marilyn Copeland (David) of Mountain Mesa CA, Charles Stern of Lake Isabella CA, Jim Meyers of Phelan CA, Michael Stern (Jean) of Bakersfield CA, Kenneth Stern (Jane) of Goldsboro NC, Debbie Leonard of Phelan CA, and Rocky Aldridge of Hesperia CA. Along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
