Maria Zamora passed away peacefully on December 8th 2024 at the age of 91. Born on September 8th 1933, she was known for her love of good wine, cooking, bowling and celebrating her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Rigoberto Zamora and his wife, Selma Zamora of Moreno Valley, Ca.; her daughter Elizabeth Zamora, and her partner Jill Blaylock of Victorville, Ca.; her sister Rosa Ledesma; her brother Pedro Ledesma and his wife Myriam Ledesma of Santa Clarita, Ca.; her Sister Cecilia Rey and her husband Galo Rey of La Habra, Ca. She’s survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Marie Zamora and her partner Eric Mathew Suchil of Moreno Valley, Ca., Christina Ann Zamora and her partner John McKinney of Astoria, Oregon, and Jennifer Hinojos-Jones and her wife Lindsey L. Jones of Lodi, Ca.. Maria is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Tyler John Costlow, Isabella Marie Costlow, Mathew Eric Suchil; Hudson Jones and Brooks Jones. Maria is additionally survived by her nephews, John Ledesma, David Ledesma and James Ledesma; her niece Anna and her husband Ayron Pepper; Anna’s children, Bailey, Jacob, Chloe and Luke Pepper. Maria is also survived by her dear friends, Heidi Aragundi and her husband Carlos Aragundi; Comadre Blanca Zambrano, and Joan Doria, mother of late grandson Bobby Zamora, who became more like a daughter during the ensuing years.
Maria’s life was characterized by her commitment to hard work, being a devote Catholic, being ethical, loving and inclusive to everyone. She will be remembered for cooking one of the best Thanksgiving dinners for her family and friends! She loved to cook, and most importantly, she loved to make everyone feel the love for her family.
Maria was an immigrant. As a poor young girl in Ecuador, South America, her dream was to come to America, own a home and become a United States citizen. She was able to achieve her American Dream, by working hard, and with sheer tenacity, eventually becoming a homeowner and a Naturalized American citizen.
