Lola is survived by her older brother James Lavont Smith of Washington, three of her five children: Jean Marie Knisley Weber of Mesa, AZ; Ruth Ann Knisley of Victorville, CA; Scott James Knisley of Hesperia, CA. Also, by daughter-in-Law Nichole Caprio Knisley of Hesperia, CA; two grandsons,: Harley Scott Knisley of Apple Valley, CA; Walter Paul Weber of Mesa, AZ; three granddaughters: Rosalind Dorthea Weber of Mesa, AZ; Emilee Caprio and Cloey Caprio of Fontana, CA, and one great grandson, Antonio Chavarria-Caprio. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul Lloyd Knisley; her son Douglas Paul Knisley and her daughter Leah Patricia Knisley.
Lola was born in Victorville, CA to Lavont Sloan Smith and Alice Pearl McAllister. She enjoyed growing up in the desert. After graduating Victor Valley High School she attended one year at BYU before returning to California and attending Ferguson School of Cosmetology in San Bernardino. She worked as a beautician until meeting and marrying Paul Knisley in 1968. His Air Force career took her to many places in the U.S. and Europe, finally returning to Victorville in 1987 where she lived the remainder of her life. Throughout her married life she worked at various jobs mainly in food service.
Lola was a hardworking, dedicated woman who loved raising her children and extending her love to all their friends. She had a special place in her heart for genealogy and spent lots of time on family history. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She touched the lives of everyone she met in a positive way and is fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12100 Ridgecrest Rd., Victorville CA on 26 February 2022, at 10:00am. Graveside services to follow at Victor Valley Memorial Park (15609 11th St., Victorville CA), -. In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of her favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
