Dear Grampy,
I love when I always get to go to your house and ride my bike. You have always been very nice to me.  I learned to ride my bike there and I will always miss you.

This truly was your "ultima parranda" (final party) dad- thanks for the memories.  I will always shed a happy tear when I listen to your songs and cherish the Tex-Mex CD you gave to me many years ago.  I loved having drinks with you and listening to your songs and your stories- some of the finest moments of my life for sure.  XOXO

Dear Dad,

I never told you this but my love of the open road and taking road trips is truly because of you.  As a kid/teen you always let me unfold the maps and annoyingly call out all the mile markers along the highway.  Every single trip.  Looking back I can see that some of my most memorable times with you were while we spent time in a vehicle- how fitting!

I remember a time about 15 or more years ago when mom was in Mexico and I picked you up from Kaiser after you had an outpatient procedure.  You were heavily medicated and sleepy so I took advantage of the situation by blasting my new Limp Bizkit cd - which was super explicit for your taste.  You were unknowingly bobbing your head to the music and I was laughing so hard but trying  to not let you notice while climbing up the Cajon Pass :) I still laugh out loud when I think about it !!  Another time you had me drive you in your beloved S10 to your friend's house across town and I'll never forget our talk throughout the ride- you told me that while I wasn't the best driver (lol) I had other attributes that made me beautiful and you went into some detail.  I thought WOW- Dad you're so good for my ego! While you had complimentary words for me at that moment you also never minced words.  You said what you said and that was it. 

Every time Genesis and I and the kids came to see you and Mom you would love to sit in the passenger seat and be chauffeured around town, offering every one of us gum or mints before takeoff.  You know I now can't be without gum or mints in my car?  Little Genesis says I'm just like you in that way.  If a song came out on the radio that you particularly liked- and there were many- you would look towards the back of the van and say "Oye Celi- you hear that?  That's a goodun right there" - we knew what you were really saying was "Turn it up!"

So many things that you put your one and only signature on in my life dad.  I will never let your memory fade in me or my kids. Love you dad.

Grampy, I'm so happy I was able to fulfill your wish of having your Leos 5th generation in the newspaper. Your exact words were "I thank God for letting me live long enough to see my 5th generation" that day it was published Aug 23, 2017 you said that was your happiest day ever and that you felt like a movie star 💕

Oh Grampy, you don't know how much I miss you.  I just know that Good byes are not forever, Good byes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you till we meet again💕 I love you so much Grampy!! You may be out of my sight,  but you will NEVER be out of my mind.   I will FOREVER cherish all our memories together. Your the Best Grampy! Every time I visit I’m always reminded of the time when I would play in his back yard. My brother pushed me into the “pit” and I’d cry. But somehow I’d always be able to remember his big hands to pull me out saying “pobrecito” and wipe my tears away. I don’t have very many memories of him, but the ones I do have are full of love and care.

Thank you for all the beautiful memories of a wonderful life with you , being blessed with you in my life gave me a strong sense of family love and togetherness, holidays and family gatherings at your home  we’re always fun for me because I got to see and play with all my cousins and that for me was the best thing ever, just being with family was so amazing I will always treasure those memories of you and all those good times, I love you grandpa with all my heart and will always keep there .
Rest well grandpa and know that you will never be forgotten but always loved ❤️

Oh Sally. Oh children.  Norm and I remember your dear daddy and husband so well, yet we have not seen him in over 15 years. Wherever his beautiful wife and daughters were, there he was also, with that signature Jesse Leos smile on his face for everyone. Proudly and dutifully he happily fulfilled the role of husband, father and provider. 

He was a powerful presence. To our children, he provided one more demonstration of what a father can be. Although we didn't have the pleasure of knowing you sons, you girls really spoiled him and he deserved it. You made his life complete. You were so fortunate to have such a fine man as your father and husband. 

He is resting now, but not gone. Wherever you are, he will always be with you. You will hear his words when you need him the most. Just close your eyes and listen.

I knew Jesse for about 15 years in the 1980s and 1990s and have many fond memories of him.  He loved to tell stories and give advice.  He told stories about his youth in Texas, his first jobs, his first car, his radio station, and the colorful town sheriff.  These stories conveyed the values of hard work, self respect, and professionalism.   He also told stories about his travels across the United States and Mexico, which were usually filled with anecdotes about something funny that he encountered along the way.  Most of all, he loved to brag about his children and his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments and potential.

The most vivid memory I have of him though, is from when he lived in Norwalk and Lisa, Laura, and Claudia were still living at home.  He would come home in the evening from work and head to his Lazy-Boy chair.  His beautiful wife, “Celi,” (Sally) would remind the girls to rush into the den to greet him and the four of them would dote over him, taking off his shoes, asking how his day went, and bringing him one of Sally’s incredible meals – he loved it!  He was a very lucky man.


I remember tio Jesse's great hospitality and playful attitude. He will be missed.  

My Grandpy my main man my everything . I’m so broken you left us but so grateful for the memories we shared . You and I had a bond like no one else . From our rides home from down the hill singing Chango George and taking me to Chicken cheese . Some of our best times . I’ll never forget everything you’ve done for me since the moment you found about me until the day you left . I miss you so much and I promise to take care of Grandmy and the doggies for you. I love you more than anything. Please continue to guide me and watch over us all.          Love you forever!

My condolences ... Your daughter, Elizabeth,  has been very helpful to my family...  She helped us tremendously for my stepdad, my grandma and my grandpa and has been continually helping my whole family.

Elizabeth has become part of our family too.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and with your family 

Mr. Jesse Leos…or simply, Jesse…from all of us of the Serrano Family in Hawaii, Guam, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas – we are all giving you our warm embraces as you leave us to be with the Father Creator. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and memories during countless holidays and get-togethers throughout the years. This is not a farewell at all as we know you are going ahead of us to reserve a picnic area for us to celebrate when we will join you at our appointed time – where there will be bottomless chilled sangria, Sally’s Spanish rice, tamales, salsa, grilled meats, and of course – apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Adios for now Senor Jesse…we will always remember you and miss you when holidays come around!  

(P.S. - don't worry I'll do my best to guide your grand  daughter Chloe who thinks she is all grown up at the age of 14...ay, Dios mio!)

Daddy, my beautiful, wonderful, baby boy!!! I would give anything to have you in my arms tonight. You were and always will be my first love, and then Johnny Cash, which you introduced me to when I couldn’t walk, tried dancing to his music and would hold on to that old stereo, engraving my toothmarks in the wood to hold on, just to dance.  I love you my Daddy, I know you know that, I was there with you every step of the way to heaven, I love you so much... I need you, please continue watching over me as you have every day of my life, thank you Daddy ♥️♥️♥️

My uncle Jesse is my Dad's older brother.  I remember when I was a young kid he would always throw BBQs at his Norwalk home.  He always gave me my domingo (allowance) and taught me the value of a dollar and to always work hard.  Work hard and do it the right way. He would play his organ piano.  He came to my daughter's 1st birthday and we enjoyed my aunt Sally and Jesse's company.  I am going to miss my Tio.  May he rest in peace.

Mr Leos was the best father-in-law any man could ask for. He was always a gentleman always spoke softly and had a huge heart. Jessie and Sally did so much for me I don't know where to start but I will be forever grateful may he rest in peace.   Patrick Jordan
