His Lord welcomed him home December 27, 2020.
On October 7, 1928 Tommy was born in Victoria, Texas to Eula Mae Wilsford Bayer and William Bayer. In 1948 he married Aleene Scott from Victoria. Their only child is Phyllis Lynne Bayer Townsend. She lives with her husband, Rex Townsend, in Burleson, Texas.
He grew up in Bloomington living on the family farm. His attendance at Bloomington High School led him to achieve many athletic goals and awards. Some of those records still are intact.
Tennessee Gas and Tenneco Chemical were the only two companies he spent his adult time employed by for over 40 years.
Tommy and his wife enjoyed travel with their camper all over the states. The last place of residence for both was in Baytown while he was still employed by Tenneco.
A major amount of time during his life was spent hunting in various parts of the country with friends and son-in-law. Deer, turkey, sheep and bobcat filled his home.
After his retirement and upon his wife’s passing in 1988, he returned to Victoria. He began helping his brother on his farm/ranch. Never could get the country life out of the boy.
The last two years of his life he has been living in Burleson closer to his daughter and son-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and brother Billy Bayer & his wife Estelle. His sisters Mae Jean Willemin & husband Marslin and Betty Ann Tagliabue (husband Allyson deceased) both live in Victoria and his brother Jackie Bayer & wife Shawnee live in Bloomington.
He has many family members and oh so many friends who all love him.
