Petra Estrada Rivera

Petra Estrada Rivera, 85 of Placedo passed away Friday, May 1, 2015. She was born July 29, 1929 in Bloomington to the late Fermin and Anita Licerio Estrada. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She was employed as a cook by Ramsey’s. Petra was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bloomington.

Survivors include her daughters, Julia Rivera Marshall of Victoria and Petra (Adam) Cisneros of LaPorte; sons, Patricio (Olga) Rivera of Dacosta and Paul (Gerri) Rivera of Victoria; daughter-in-law Patricia Rivera of Victoria; sisters, Dolores Molina of Victoria and Stella Galloway of Galveston; brothers, Robert Estrada of Victoria, Pete Estrada of Bloomington and Trino Estrada of Victoria; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Florentino Rivera; sons, Eloy Rivera and Johnny Joe Rivera; son-in-law, Thurmond Marshall; daughter-in-law, Susan Rivera; three sisters and two brothers.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Rivera, Jeremy Rivera, Patrick Rivera, Rudy Rivera, Justin Cisneros, Paul Rivera Jr., Ryan Rivera, Aric Cisneros and Christian Cisneros.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
