Norma Mitscherling Bertrand Schmidt

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was active with the sewing group. She was a Past President and member of DaCosta Sons of Hermann #265, and member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a lifelong bowler and a skilled seamstress.

She is survived by her children, David Mitscherling Jr. and wife Barbara Ann, Jo Ann Brown and husband Robert, and Joe B. Mitscherling and wife Jessie; sisters, Eunice Kotz and Frances LeJune; brothers, L. J. Bertrand and Sidney Bertrand; six grandchildren: David Mitscherling III and wife Tammy, Tina Green and husband Blake, Robert Brown Jr. and wife Mindy, Matt Brown and wife Heather, Michelle Yates and husband Michael, and Tanya Johnson and husband Lewis; thirteen great grandchildren: Cade, Jace and Gage Mitscherling, Jake, Katie and Korey Green, Grayson, Ethan and Denae Brown, Tyler and Logan Yates, and Alyssa and Haley Johnson; and one great great grandchild, Jacie Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Frank Mitscherling and Smitty Schmidt; sister, Beulah Boyle; and brother, J. B. Bertrand.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2012, and the Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The Rosary will be recited by her niece, Brenda LeJune.

The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Celestino Say and Fr. John Kollannur officiating, and Brenda LeJune will recite the Readings. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Robert Brown, Matt Brown, Ethan Brown, Tyler Yates, Logan Yates, Jake Green, and David Mitscherling III. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
