McKinley Lewis Williams (age 79) passed away suddenly Sunday morning, September 19, 2021. Mac was born in Corpus Christi, TX on June 11, 1942 to McKinley (deceased) and Dorothy Williams (deceased). He had a younger sister, Janice Ann Williams Boudreau (deceased).
He graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1961 and attended Del Mar College. He served the U.S. Army from December 14, 1961 to September 12, 1975 and completed a Vietnam tour of duty during his service. Upon his return from Vietnam, Sergeant Williams married Loretta Higley September 18, 1964 in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife: Loretta; his children and their spouses: Robert and Karin Williams, Jodie Williams, Jillene Williams, Julia and Brian Keller, Joyce and Va’enuku Tupola, and Lawrence and Jennifer Williams; 17 grandchildren and their spouses: Synneve and Trace Levos, Jake Williams, Elisa and Stephen Kunkel, Faith Williams, Sariah Keller, William Tupola, Adeline Keller, Evelyn Williams, Nilasoni Tupola, Kathleen Williams, Eli Keller, Sarah Tupola, Matthew Williams, Lewis Tupola, James Tupola, Ryan Williams, Samuel Tupola; and 2 great-grandchildren: Wren and Peter.
Mac was devoted to his family and serving his church. He had a contagious laugh with an outgoing and fun-loving personality, who was loved by all. He worked hard in many different capacities to provide for his family despite extraordinary physical challenges.
He was a proud Texan who loved golfing, fishing, woodworking, gardening, watching sports, playing dominos, and being outdoors. He loved his Savior and served as a temple ordinance worker for 20 years.
He is loved and already greatly missed.
