Margaret Ann Barnett Hassell, 85, of Wharton passed away on May 23, 2018 after a sudden illness. She was born on Oct. 30, 1932 in Palacios TX to Joe Porter Barnett and Mary Aline Duffey, where she was raised. She was a long time resident of Victoria and spent her later years in Wharton.
She enjoyed sewing, reading books, spending time with her many grandchildren, family and friends, getting her hair fixed every week and especially loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. (Pete) Hassell; parents; and sons Sammy and Vincent Tolleson.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Perez of Ganado, Kim Kieler of Wharton and son Jeffrey Tolleson of Aransas Pass as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Kieler, Jacques Jackson, Trey Jackson, Kobe Perez, Maverick Rodriguez, and Luke Prater.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 29th at Colonial Funeral Home, 1801 E. Red River in Victoria, TX. with services following at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria.
