Joy Georgia Christian

Joy Georgia Groth Christian, 90, passed away May 20, 2019. She was born December 3, 1928 in Victoria to the late August William and Bessie Edith Stafford Groth. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Joy will be remembered as a loving mother, Nana and friend.

Survivors include her son, August Glenn Christian (Jackie) of Victoria; granddaughter, Jill Christian Rowley (Jason); grandson, JR Christian (Amanda); sisters, Josephine E. Cook and Bernice M. Hajek (Jerry), both of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Abby Christian and A. J. Olson; step-great grandchild, Parker Rowley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin M. Christian, and her brother, Charles Stafford.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, May 24, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be JR Christian, Arlen Miller, Darren Miller, Jason Rowley, James Christian and Virgil Kellogg.
