Jimmie Simcik, 83, of Victoria, passed away peacefully at his home in Victoria on Sunday, June 20, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 6, 1927 in Flatonia, the son of James and Anna Rosenauer Simcik. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Theresa Fougerat on Nov. 27, 1951. He was a retired bookkeeper and office manager for Patterson Well Service.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Theresa Simcik of Victoria; daughters, Debbie Mladenka and husband Paul of McQueeney, Paula Owen of Victoria, Mary Bitterly and husband Keith of Victoria; sons, Mark Simcik and wife Debbie of Victoria and John Simcik of Austin; sister, Evelyn Gibson and husband Robert of Virginia; eight grandsons; and one granddaughter.
A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with Father Charles Otsiwah officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers include Phillip Reagan, Aaron Simcik, Ethan Simcik, Bryan Rolette, Keith Bitterly, and Paul Mladenka. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Etlinger, John Owen, Michael Owen, Ty Reagan, Kyle Bitterly, and Kaley Bitterly.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Hospice of South Texas.
