Homer V. Rogers, 91, of Victoria passed away January 5, 2017. Homer was born November 14, 1925 in Mission, Texas to the late Louis F. and Mary E. Griffith Rogers. Homer worked in the oilfield for many years and was a Methodist. Homer was a member of The United States Navy and served in WWII. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Homer is survived by his son, Phillip Wayne Rogers (Grace) of Hallettsville; sister, Marjorie Greeson of Rockport; nephew, Derel W. Reaves (Susanna) of Victoria; grandchildren, Melissa Todd (Kenneth) of Hallettsville, Teresa Rogers (Jacob) of Hallettsville, Serena Stasa (Kirk) of Yoakum; great- grandchildren, Emma Todd, Kyla Gomez, Marley and Wade Spangenberg, Valauri, Aidenn, John and Jensen Stasa; great-nephews, Hunter and Brooke Reaves. He also leaves behind his companion and friend of many years, Mary Ann Motes of Victoria.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Louis Rogers, Jr.
A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 12, 2016 from 9-10 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with a funeral Service to follow at 10 AM with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council. Burial will immediately follow at Hirschhauser Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Stasa, Kenneth Todd, Jacob Spangenberg and John Stasa.
