Mr Gilbert Martinez Jr

Gilbert Martinez, Jr., 53, of San Antonio, formerly of Edna, Texas passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014. He was born October 20, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas to Gilbert Martinez of Lubbock, Texas and Maria Garcia Vasquez of Victoria. He retired from Alcoa after 14 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ramirez Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Jaime Ashley Martinez of San Antonio, Texas.; sons: Gilbert James Martinez and wife Amanda of San Antonio, Texas, Jeremy Tirso Martinez of Austin, Texas and half- brother, Joe Garcia of Cuero, Texas. Gilbert is also survived by; sisters, Martha Valle, Lydia Martinez of Victoria and Sandra Gamez of Tomball, Texas. Also survived by special nieces and nephews.

Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by sister, Pricilla Ann Martinez.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm Monday, April 7, 2014, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Sauceda, Marty Montes, Adam Rodan, Oscar Leal, Agustin Trevino and Joe Sertuche. Honorary pallbearers: All of his co-workers at Alcoa.
