Please accept our sincerest Condolences. We met Miss Evelyn, when my mother, Masie Mehrtens and Evelyn were roommates at the assisted living facility. She was 100 years old then and we had some of the best conversations. I visited my mother every day and Evelyn and I got to be very close. I really enjoyed the stories that she would tell from her youth and growing up outside of Sweet Home, TX. By Yellow Bank. My great nephew, Miles, who is eight years old, really enjoyed going to see her and listening to her tell stories about when she was young and how hard the whole family worked. She helped my mother so much in daily activities at the home. She would sit beside my mother and encourage her to eat more.  We loved her sense of humor and her wonderful smile. We always prayed before I would leave to go home and She always told us to stay right with the Lord, he is up high and looking low. So I know now she is at our Lord’s side and is an angel watching over us. Love and prayers from the Mehrtens Family, Masie, Patty, Miles, Pam, Allen And Mallen
