Ernesto “Ernest” Luna went to be with the Lord to his forever home on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1951 in Matador, TX to Felix Luna Jr. and Paula Escalante Diaz. He married the love of his life, Rosalind, on March 30, 1974.
Ernest was known as a jack of all trades and worked as a carpenter, rebar rodbuster, and a construction worker. After 50+ years of working, Ernest retired where he enjoyed barbecuing for his family, attending church with his wife, and caring for his little dogs. Ernest also enjoyed fishing in his free time and fixing things around the house.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalind Luna. His daughters, Cynthia Pettis and Naomi Duenez; son, David Luna; grandchildren, Michelle, Monica, Bradley, Brandon, Shawntelle, Benjamin, and Ashtynn; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Ethan, Caspian, Ainsley, Kayden, Aliana, and Nolan; brother, Raymond Luna (Elena); and sister-in-laws Connie Luna and Virginia Luna.
He is preceded in death by parents, Felix Luna Jr. and Paula Escalante Diaz. His sisters, Lillie Galindo, Mary Raby, Solia Reyes; his brothers, Delfino Luna, Santiago Luna, Leonard Luna, Juan Luna, and Robert Luna.
Pallbearers to serve are Bobby Luna, Sebastian Luna, Raymond Baladez Jr., Bradley Luna, Brandon Luna, Benjamin Luna, Robert Cardenas Jr., and Ruben Perez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers to serve are Paul Canales Jr. and Lupe Deleon.
The family would like to thank every nurse and hospital personnel that cared for Ernest this past year and a special thank you to Dr. Kassar and her nurse Joann at Houston Methodist Neurology, Dr. Peter Nguyen, Dr. Faisal Khan, and Terry Brasher, PA.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-6:30pm with a Prayer service starting at 6:30pm on Monday, December 9, 2024. Funeral Services will continue the following day on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 10:00am with the burial following at San Jose Cemetery in Bloomington, TX.
