Dwane T. “Tuffy” Willborn, 82 of Victoria went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born in Kenedy, TX to James W. and Effie Matthews Willborn on February 22, 1937. Tuffy was employed by DuPont and retired as a supervisor after many years, he was also a member of Northside Baptist Church. He loved sports, and was the star player at Kenedy High School. He loved playing softball and played on numerous teams over the years. Continuing his love of sports he officiated for both football and basketball. Tuffy was an avid woodworker and fisherman, spending many hours with his best friend John Novak and he always cherished the time he could take his grandsons fishing.
He loved his family and friends and was always there for everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joy Gilley Willborn; sons, Scott (Debra) Willborn of Katy, Chris (Darlene) Willborn of Victoria, David (Robert Garcia) Willborn of Goliad and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Tuffy was preceded in death by a sister, Merlene Duffer.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mickey Ewing officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Novak, Adam Willborn, Zachary Willborn, Cameron Gomez, Garrett Gomez, Michaela Willborn, Maxton Garcia and Kyle Daniels.
