Bill Ray Lowrie

Bill Lowrie, 93, of Pinehurst, Texas, formerly of Victoria and Port Lavaca, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Pinehurst. He was born in Christine, Texas to the late John Alexander and Martha Ellen Knight Lowrie on March 27, 1929. Bill worked as a General Superintendent for Brown & Root at the Union Carbide plant for 23 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy. Bill was a Southern Baptist and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4403 in Port Lavaca, Texas.

In addition to his parents, John Alexander and Martha Ellen Knight Lowrie, Bill is preceded in death by sisters, Lois Baldwin, Mattie Sue Lowrie, Alma Davis, Tommie West, Naomi Moody, Minnie Lowrie, and Lanora Christian; and brothers, Jake Lowrie, Luther Lowrie, J. A. Lowrie, and R. F. Lowrie.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Lowrie; children, Don Lowrie and his wife Patty, Phillip Lowrie and Pamela Strong; sister, Doris Avant; brother, James Lowrie; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Crescent Valley Cemetery.
