Dear Totah Family,
Your family & family business were an integral part of our lives as we grew up in Victoria.
The Corral was the first restaurant I went to. My father, Ernest was a good friend to Mr Albert Totah and therefore became my friend as well.
The StJ class if ‘68 all had fond memories as well. The topic came up at our last Reunion.
Mr. Totah & family will always have  great memories.

To all the Torah family.
Mr Torah was a good friend to my family. My Dad thought if and loved him dearly. Ever since I can remember the Corral was always our restaurant if choice.  My first memory was around 4 or 5 years of age , and from then on it was the only restaurant I would frequent on a regular basis.
Mr Torah was never seen without a tie and  white shiort sleeve dress shirt, 
Always respectful and outgoing toward me, Ernest’s don.  Believe it or not; I had a charge account at the Cirral during  my HS and College years (ask my football buddies). The best Bar B Que in the area.

Mr. Torah was a favorite son in the city of Victoria.

I pray for his entire family during this time of loss. May you have Gods peace Mr. T!

I’m so sorry to here about Mr Totah’s passing.  I remember, as a little girl in the early 60s,  going with my father and all the civic theater group to eat and have coffee after their practices. I remember always ordering a BBQ sandwich on poppyseed bun with a pickle & onion slice on the side and French fries.  Mr Totah would always come over and sit and visit with all the adults at the table. He was kind enough to save for me every year a newly emptied cigar box that I used as a pencil box for school.  As my dad and I drove off, back home to Edna,  I would sit in the back seat of the car and watch, until it was out of site, the Indian shoot his arrow. Fond, fond memories. RIP Mr. Totah. 

Albert and Cassandra, I was so sorry to learn about the passing of your father.  My deepest sympathy to you and the rest of your family.   He had a long fulfilling life .  May he rest in peace alongside your mother. 



I grew up in Victoria and well remember Mr. Totah at The Corral.  He was always so kind & polite which I appreciated.

We were deeply sorry to hear that Mr. Totah had passed away.  He
was a fine Christian gentleman who always had a smile on his face.
Mr. Totah owned and operated the best restaurant in Victoria.  He was active in the community.  We know that a lot of people will miss
Mr.  Totah.  May God bless the entire Total family during your time of
loss.   We will be praying for the repose of Mr. Totah's soul.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Mr. Totah. What a fine example of a man. He was always welcoming during my many visits to the Corral and cordial each time we met away from the restaurant. I especially enjoyed watching the interactions between Mr. Totah and Mr. Dave Lack.  A fine sparing match of two gentlemen that respected each other.

I asked him in when he was going to retire, and he would simply smile and shrug. I truly admire a man that committed to his business, his family and to Victoria. God bless him!

Rest in peace Albert, you will be missed. So sorry for your loss Lisa, Stephanie, Albert, and all of his family.

Victoria was a better place because of Albert Totah. A true gentleman and good Catholic.

So many memories of Mr. Totah! My parents moved to Victoria in the early 60’s, Dr. Everett and Evelyn Ware, we went to the Corral at least once a week!
I remember as a child being so fascinated with the sign, the Indian with a bow and arrows that flew!
Mr. Totah always came by the table to welcome his customers , he was such a sweet man!

A very kind and gentle man has passed this way for these 94 years. He was my cousin and my friend, with whom I could share my life-going-ons.  There were two occasions I remember when I came home from college that we visited. He would stop whatever he was doing and sit to visit with me at the Coral. He was a man who never got upset over anything.  I will miss him dearly.

Goodbye Mr. Totah. I have so many wonderful memories of family meals at your restaurant, The Corral. You were always a great host. May you rest in peace.

I was a partner at Rosewood Funeral Chapels until I retired in May 2016. I have known the entire Totah family since I came to Victoria and went to work for Colonial Funeral Home in 1971. I had the pleasure of helping the Totah family especially Mr. Albert Totah, Sr. 
with arranging several funerals at Rosewood when I was still there. It was always a pleasure to work with Mr. Totah. He was always so kind.
His restaurant The Corral made the Houston Highway famous. I do believe there is not a restaurant in Victoria that was open as long a the Corral.
