Al proudly served his country as a medic during the Vietnam War and while stationed in Berlin he was awarded the National Defense Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and the Marksman Rifle Medal. He worked as a finance manager for 35 years before retiring to spend time with his cherished wife and family. He found great joy in searching for treasures at local yard and estate sales. He had a knack for collecting and refurbishing vintage tools, guns, clocks and furniture. He spent countless hours working outdoors to keep the yard well-manicured and in picture perfect shape. His true passion in life was found when spending time with, creating memories with and supporting his wife, children and grandchildren. He always said that his family gave him purpose and provided him with pure happiness.
