Maclean, Marie Eleanor, 94, of Victoria B.C. passed away peacefully 20 February 2023 in Victoria, now in the presence of the Lord. She was born 23 July 1928 to her parents, Godfrey Gurton Woodyard and Elizabeth Marie Woodyard (nee Hamilton). After attending Pat Bay and Alice Arm Elementary, Marie was a graduate of Victoria High School in 1946. She married Peter George Slova on November 4 1949. They travelled from Prince Rupert, then a navy base, to live and work in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. She worked for Revelstoke, Stewart and Hudson and other building chains. Marie also worked in accounts receivable in her husband’s contracting business. She spoke fondly of working as a dental receptionist. Marie is survived by her only daughter Leslie Slova Wilson, her son-in-law, Robert Adair Wilson, her grandson, Alan Martin, her granddaughter, Kerry Martin, and great-granddaughters Abby and Alexis. Preceded in death by her brother Theodore Woodyard, sister-in-law, Eleanor Woodyard, first husband, Peter Slova, and second husband, Angus Maclean.
