Predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan, with whom she shared 53 remarkable years together until his passing in 2016.
Hettie lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her loving children, Susan (Jamie) and Paul, and her four adoring grandchildren, Kayleigh, Brodie, Jett, and Jace who cherished their beloved “Granny” dearly.
Hettie immigrated from England to Canada, initially settling in the close-knit community of Ocean Falls. It was there that she met Alan and they shortly after welcomed Susan and Paul. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring family memories from Ocean Falls to Gibsons, Mackenzie, Maple Ridge and finally settling in Sidney BC.
In her career as a nurse, Hettie touched the lives of countless patients, but her caring nature for others extended well beyond the hospital. She carried the same kindness she exhibited as a nurse throughout her entire life. Hettie had an unparalleled ability to care for and comfort those in need, always providing a listening ear, a warm smile, and support to everyone around her.
Hettie's legacy is one of love, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to making the world a better place for those she encountered. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her and will forever shine as a beacon of warmth and kindness in our hearts.
Per Hettie’s wishes, the family will not be holding a service.
