Frances Norma White

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mom, Frances Norma White on December 1, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her twin daughters at her home at Amica on the Gorge.

Born in Killarney, Manitoba, mom moved to London, Ontario in 1950 where she met and married our dad and raised our family there until our move to Victoria, B.C. in 1974.

Predeceased by her beloved son Bryan (1958-1980); her husband of 57 years, Douglas (1928-2012); and her partner of 10 years, Gordon Tredgett (1928-2022), she leaves behind her daughters Sharon White and Sandra McClary (Mike) of Victoria and Barbara Hoover (Rick Hoar) of London, Ontario.

Frances was one of six children – Stella (deceased), Patricia, Stanley (deceased), Christina and Theodore (Joanne) – born to Julia and James Pochinco. She will be deeply missed by all her family as well as the extended family and friends that our parents loved and supported throughout the years.

Frances had an incredible and creative mind which showed up in her impeccable style and her love of gardening, sewing, painting, and cooking. She enjoyed travelling worldwide but her best experiences were the times she spent with her family. She will be remembered most for her courage, kind-heartedness and the love she bestowed upon everyone, including her cherished “fur” family members.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the residents and staff members of Amica on the Gorge as well as the B.C. Palliative Care Team for their compassion and care. As per her wish, there will be no service.
