She was born on May 06,1929 in Almonte, Ontario she was the daughter of George and Emily Comba, sister to the late Murray L. Comba and beloved wife of the late Donald Blanchard.
Emily grew up in Almonte attended Almonte Public School and Almonte District High School. She was captain of her high school basketball team they went on to win the Lanark County title 1944-45. Emily loved theatre and drama participated in many high school plays. After high school she went onto McGill McDonald College to become a dietitian. She continued her love of theatre and starred in many community productions. She was in plays with William Shattner and Christopher Plummer when they were starting out.
After college she married dad and started a family. Emily and Don’s adventurous spirit took them and their young family to Peru, the Philippines, Western Canada. Emily and Don settled in Port Moody and Victoria. Emily kind nature made her friends all over the world.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine, sons Christopher and Philip (Shannon) Grandson Rogers (Jodi), Granddaughters Fraea (Merlin) and Serene (Taylor), Great grand daughter Audrey, Special family members Lenie, Marcel and Family, and her cherished life-long friend Glady.
She was pre deceased by her beloved husband Donald Blanchard, her parents George and Emily Comba, her brother Murray L. Comba, her in laws Harold and Zella Blanchard, her son in law Garry Lehew.
