She was born February 18, 1959 in Edmonton, Alberta, to parents George and Estelle Hessie. She married her high school sweetheart Craig Switzer in 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta and they spent many happy years together.
Deb was an adventurous woman who loved flying and doing anything outdoors, including camping, skiing, motorbiking, and hiking. She was an active volunteer with the Civil Air Search and Rescue association in both Alberta and British Columbia. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Geoff (Fran) Switzer, April (Minh) Tran and Shawn Switzer as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Deb will be missed by her brother Robert (Helga), her sister Lorrie (JJ), many nephews and nieces as well as many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Russ Hessie and sister Donna Leskie.
There will be a service held for Deb at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4275 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC V8Y1B4 on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 11 a.m.
