July 26, 1933 - January 12, 2017
Terry passed away peacefully surrounded by her family who loved her very much and will carry her in our hearts forever.
Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John; son Troy (Karen); daughters Barb and Lana; grandchildren: Carrie, Chad, Sierra (Mike), Joel, Quinten, and Dane; brother Dan (Paddy); sister-in-law Rosemary; a niece and nephews from Calgary and her special friend of many years, Alex Latin. Terry was predeceased by her parents Agnes and Sigurd and her brother Jack.
Terry was born in Edmonton and lived much of her life in Williams Lake and Lac La Hache where they raised their family. We have many fond memories of our time in Williams Lake where John ran a successful shoe store, Jaycee’s Bootery, and Terry dedicated years of service as an Alderwoman and even rode an elephant in the Stampede Parade. She was a strong, principled and hardworking woman who tried to learn all sides of any issue and always had a soft spot for the underdog.
Her retirement was full of great memories in Vernon as well as many Yuma, Arizona winter getaways. She loved the sun and was a true snowbird.
A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make memorial contributions in memory of Terry may do so to the M.S. Society.
