It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherron Donna Jones, who peacefully left us on November 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Vernon, BC. Sherron was born on January 23, 1942, in Victoria, BC, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Sherron’s life journey took her from Victoria, BC, to the Yukon, where she lived from 1968 to 1983. In 1983, she made Vernon her home, where she continued to contribute to her community in meaningful ways. She was a dedicated and hardworking individual, with a career that included 15 years of service to the City of Whitehorse. Sherron was also known for her work producing the Moccasin Telegraph for Yukoners, and her volunteer work with the hospital auxiliary. She served as the ladies’ captain for the Vernon Golf and Country Club and was an active member of the community. In addition to her local endeavors, Sherron enjoyed spending her winters in Hemet, California, and Yuma, Arizona, where she cherished time with friends and family.
Sherron’s love for life was matched by her commitment to others. As an advanced (Ham) radio operator, she embraced technology and communication, always ready to lend a hand or offer guidance. Sherron was very involved in Genealogy and produced many family trees for many individuals. Her kind spirit, warm smile, and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In 1966, Sherron married the love of her life, Bill, in Victoria, BC. Their partnership was one filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Bill, deeply saddened by her passing, will forever miss his beloved wife and cherish the memories they shared.
Sherron is survived by her husband Bill, her son Wesley, grandchildren Candice (Darcell), Tanner (Savannah), great-grandchildren Jaden (Savanah), Kirra, Hailey, Adrielle, Areigha, Scarlett and a large circle of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, strength, and kindness.
Sherron’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will always be remembered for her generosity, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.
