Frances Moir Tupper

With much sadness, we announce the passing of Frances “Fran” Tupper, who died peacefully in the company of loved ones at 11:20 p.m. on September 29, 2024, at the age of 83. Born to Bill and Alena Pagan on June 29th, 1941, in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, Fran was the second of four sisters and was raised in Vernon, British Columbia, where she formed lifelong bonds with her family and friends.

In 1965, Fran married Bill Tupper, and they built a beautiful life together in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, raising their two beloved sons, Ken and Rob. Family was always at the heart of Fran’s life, and she found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother. Fran provided unconditional love and support for both Ken and Rob to explore the world in the ways they chose as individuals, allowing them to flourish in diverse paths of recreational, academic, and professional pursuits. Her grandchildren—Brooklyn & Ellie and Maddie & Avery—brought her immense pride, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Fran had a deep love for reading, often escaping into the pages of her favorite novels. She also had a passion for cooking, delighting family and friends with her warm hospitality and delicious meals. Travel was another of Fran's joys—she loved exploring new places, and these adventures brought her a sense of wonder and fulfillment throughout her life.

After Bill's passing in 2005, Fran’s strength and resilience shone brightly. She continued to be a source of love and support for her family and moved back to her childhood hometown of Vernon. She was a devoted sister to Wilma, Barb and Glenda, and their bond was a constant source of comfort and companionship.

Fran will be remembered for her loving spirit, her passion for life, her sharp wit, and her generosity toward all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and the joy she found in simple pleasures will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Fran is survived by her sisters Wilma (Dale) Hubbs, Barb (Dave) Brennan, and Glenda Hughes, her sons Ken and Rob, her daughters-in-law, Ashley and Stari, and her four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill and brother-in-law Hal Hughes.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Fran on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12:00pm at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
