It is with great sadness that the family of Chih Ti Chung announces her passing at the age of 95 on Oct 11, 2018. Chih Ti was born in Chut Bo, Xinhui, China on May 28, 1923 and immigrated to Canada in 1981 to join her son Wayne’s family. She was a natural mother figure and helped raise many children beyond her immediate family. The love and care that she showed was part of her character throughout her life.
Beyond her love for children, she was dedicated to her garden and vegetables. Growing up, farming was a way of survival and became a passion of hers. She tended to her garden year after year, growing an abundance of produce that she would give her neighbours, endearing her to the entire neighbourhood. Although she did not speak English, she communicated with a warm smile and gifts in a way that left no other option but to adore her.
Chih Ti will be deeply missed but her love she showed in life will live on through all of the lives she’s touched. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be fondly remembered forever. She leaves behind her loving family: four children Wayne (Virginia), Zhao Lun, Yin Ai, Wei; grandchildren Barry (Heather), Gayle (Chris), Jerry (Amy) and Gregory (Monica); grand-niece Faith; grand-nephew Mirage and extended Jong family.
The family would like to thank the paramedics for their quick arrival and efforts.
A service will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon on Monday, October 22nd at 11:00am. Internment to follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
